Turtle Beach PX21 Gaming Headset Review
I have been using my Turtle Beach PX21 Headset for over a week now and I think it's time I write a review.1. Build - I am thoroughly impressed with the quality of the PX21. The adjustability of the boom arm, ear cushions and over the head support do a great job of complimenting the sound quality. With the slight angle of the ear phones - it is VERY comfortable to wear this unit for a long period of time. (For your significant other, that might be a negative)
2. Setup & User Controls - As far as gaming headsets go, the PX21 is a breeze to install. Like many others - I generally skip the "user manual" however in this case I used it and had the Px21 setup to my liking in less than 4minutes. The control dongle allows users to control EVERY aspect of the headset: Mic Volume, Expander, Base, Chat Volume of other users and Game Volume. Turtle Beach even decided to put a clip on the back of this unit so that it can easily attach to your shirt or somewhere that's easily accessible.
3. Compatibility - Not only does this headset rock for the PS3, the Turtle Beach PX21 is fully functional on the XBOX 360, PC and even Mac! The cross platform functionality of this unit only makes it that much better.
4. Sound Quality - The other features are a great bonus, but audio quality is where the Turtle Beach PX21 truly shines. Although this unit does not have the 7.1 surround sound of its brother (Turtle Beach X41), the ambience it creates is pure bliss. For those gamers playing Modern Warfare 2, this headset WILL make you play better. No, it won't help you pull the trigger faster or aim better but it WILL allow you to hear enemies in the distance (or the ones camping with a silenced sniper near by.)
Final thoughts. If it wasn't appearant in the review - I am very happy with the PX21. This headset does everything it should and more. If you're in the market for a quality headset for a great price check out the Turtle Beach PX21!
